Wateringbury Beavers - Tasting The World!
27th May 2025

Wateringbury Beavers recently completed their International Badge in a fun and delicious way, by cooking and sampling dishes from nine different countries around the world.
Each Beaver had the opportunity to explore a variety of global cuisines, broadening their culinary horizons and learning about the cultures behind each dish. Among the highlights, the Greek pastries were an absolute favourite, with their flaky, sweet goodness winning over many taste buds.
The Kenyan potato fritters also made a strong impression, offering a savoury snack that was hard to resist.
For the leaders, it was the spicy Kelewele—plantains cooked with a blend of Ghanaian spices—that stole the show. The bold, fiery flavour was a real hit with the adults, giving them a taste of West African cuisine that they won't soon forget.
It was an exciting and educational experience for everyone involved, with the Beavers not only earning their badge but also gaining a deeper appreciation for global cultures through food!
