Trojans - Porchlight Sponsored Sleep Out

Trojans Scout Troop recently braved the elements for a powerful purpose: a sponsored cardboard sleep-out under the stars to raise funds for Porchlight. Armed with only sleeping bags and makeshift cardboard shelters, the Scouts spent a cold night outdoors to better understand the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness.

Their commitment and community support paid off, they raised an impressive £920 for Porchlight, thanks to generous sponsorships from friends, family, and local supporters.

Porchlight is a well-established charity based in Kent, dedicated to preventing and alleviating homelessness, poverty, and inequality. The organisation supports people who are rough sleeping, sofa surfing, or at risk of losing their homes by offering housing, mental health support, employment advice, and tailored assistance to help rebuild lives.

Through their sleep-out, the Trojans Scout Troop not only raised vital funds but also grew in awareness and empathy, showing that even one night can make a meaningful difference.
