Maidstone West Arrive In Peru!

Maidstone West has officially arrived in Peru! 

After a long journey that began with a flight from Heathrow to Madrid, followed by a direct hop from Madrid to Lima, the contingent finally touched down in the vibrant capital city of Peru at 5:38 AM local time! 

After a well-deserved rest to shake off the jet lag, the group headed out to start exploring the city. Hitting the streets to soak up the sights, sounds, and flavours of the city. And guess what? On their exploration, they even stumbled across none other than Paddington Bear!

The participants will continue to explore the vibrant capital before heading to Cusco to acclimatize to the altitude. From there, they will embark on the legendary Inca Trail, hiking through breath-taking mountain scenery and ancient ruins before arriving at the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu! The journey continues with a visit to the Amazon rainforest, where they will stay in jungle lodges, take part in guided nature trails, and learn about indigenous communities along the Madre de Dios River.

The trip also features a meaningful community visit in the Sacred Valley and a volunteering project in Puerto Maldonado. Whether trekking through the Andes, discovering the biodiversity of the Amazon, or engaging with local traditions, participants will leave Peru with lasting memories, new friendships, and a deeper understanding of the incredible country, that is Peru.
