Scouts Expedition Challenge 2025!
11th May 2025

On the 10th May, seven scout troops from around the Maidstone West came together to take part in "Expedition Challenge." The event tested the scouts' navigation, teamwork, and outdoor skills over two action-packed days!
Attending Scout Troops: Allington, Barming, Coxheath, Loose Swiss, Marden, Oakwood and Tovil.
Day 1: The adventure began at Barming Scout HQ, where the scouts gathered and set off on their journey through the Maidstone countryside. They hiked through a variety of terrain, stopping at several strategically placed checkpoints along the way.
Each group had to navigate their route using maps and compasses, putting their navigation skills to the test. After hiking, the scouts reached their overnight destination at Tovil Scout HQ, where they would camp for the night and prepare for the second leg of the challenge.
Day 2: The scouts were up early to tackle the second leg of the expedition. With their gear packed and spirits high, they set off from Tovil, ready to complete the final stretch toward their finish line at the Hamlet Wood Scout Campsite.
As they neared the finish line, the sense of accomplishment grew, and the challenge culminated in a well-deserved sense of achievement.
Expedition Challenge was not only a test of physical endurance but also an opportunity for the scouts to to demonstrate resilience, leadership, and a strong sense of camaraderie, making the event a memorable and rewarding experience for all involved
