Coxheath Scouts - Gurdwara Visit!
29th January 2025

On the 29th of January, Coxheath Scout Troop had the privilege of visiting the Rochester Gurdwara (Sikh Temple) for an evening of learning and cultural enrichment.
From the moment they arrived, they were warmly welcomed by the Gurdwara community, who generously shared their knowledge and traditions with them. The atmosphere was one of peace and inclusivity, making it a truly special experience for both the young people and leaders alike.
During the visit, they learned about the core beliefs and practices of Sikhism, including the importance of selfless service, equality, and community spirit. They also had the opportunity to see the prayer hall, understand the significance of the Guru Granth Sahib (the Sikh holy scripture), and appreciate the beautiful architecture.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the Scouts to broaden their understanding of different cultures and faiths, encouraging respect and curiosity about the world around them.
"I highly recommend taking your young people there for a visit." - Geoff, Group Lead Volunteer.
